HEE BERMIOK VILLAGE - West Sikkim


Bounded by Kalez Khola in the North, Hee Khola in the West, Rangit Khola in the East and Samdong Reserve Forest in the South. Hee bermoik village in the west sikkim has a beautiful setting. Apart from the scenic beauty the area is good for mountain biking, nature walk, visit to villages, More than 65 species of Birds have been located in the surrounding. The adventure lovers can enjoy two and a half hour trek to Barshey. 


The Sirijunga Falls or Sirijunga Vadhan is one of the prime attractions of the place and is located about an hour’s walk downward from Bermiok Bazaar. Besides, there is the mysterious holy box and the Sirijunga Cave or Sirijunga Phuku. All these are located at the point of meeting of Reshi Khola and Kalej. There is also a village foot trail that leads to these places via Martam village and Phagudara. Other places worth a visit include Yuma Samyo Mangheem, and the first man-made lake of Sikkim that is located at Hee-Kyangbari and is under construction to give tourists, facilities like boating. Tourists can also witness the world’s largest prayer wheel and a water park nearby.


Note : Being a border state and for some other reasons special permission is to be taken for Indian ( to some areas of Sikkim ). Foreign tourists visiting Sikkim needs to have an Indian Visa. In addition they need a special Inner Line Permit.

How to Reach :

By Air : The nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB). From Bagdogra to Hee Bermiok Village is approx 170 Kms. 

By Rail : The nearest rail is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). From New Jalpaiguri to Hee Bermiok Village is approx 140 Kms.

By Road : It is well connected by roads which connects Gangtok and Siliguri  through National Highway 31A. Siliguri, a major town on the northern fringe of West Bengal being the main gateway of Sikkim.  



Few routes are there. Those are –

 

FROM SILIGURI. (route to Hee Bermiok Village)

1. Siliguri - Jorethang - Soreng - Kaluk - Hee Bermiok.

2. Siliguri - Jorethang - Reshi - Kaluk - Hee Bermiok.

FROM GANGTOK (route to Hee Bermiok Village)

1. Gangtok - Singtam - Rangpo - Melli - Jorethang - Soreng - Kaluk - Hee Bermiok.

2. Gangtok - Singtam - Rangpo - Melli - Jorethang - Reshi - Kaluk - Hee Bermiok

3. Gangtok - Singtam - Ravangla - Legship - Geyzing - Pelling - Dentam - Hee Bermiok.
