KALI PUJA & DIWALI


Time : Last Week of October or First week of November but timing may vary as per the Bengali Calendar.
Venue : Kali Puja Only in Bengal but Diwali is celebrated in all over India.

Duration : 01 days. The day after Kali Puja, Diwali is celebrated in India.

Kali Puja is primarily a Bengali festival, held in around the first week of November. The Goddess Kali is worshiped at night on one night during this festival. Kali Puja is light-up night for Kolkata, corresponding to the North Indian festival of Diwali or Dipabali in Bengali, where people light candles in memory of the souls of departed ancestors. Diwali or Deepavali is also called the celebration of lights. It is one of the most popular festivals of India celebrated in most parts of the country. On this auspicious day the entire country is illuminated with sparkling lights and candles. Take fun of the fireworks used to celebrate Diwali which actually symbolizes a victory of light over darkness. On this particular day Goddess Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth) is worshiped and is thereby known as a festival of wealth and affluence.
